I have a hair salon in my basement so behind the sink I'd like to do a back splash

But I dont want it to be permanent. I'm thinking a piece of plywood attached to the wall then adding the back splash. Is this not a good idea

So why don't you want it to be permanent? Could you just use an adhesive tile that can be relatively easily removed?

tile board would work well there. It can be mounted just like plywood and it looks just like a tile wall. Easy to keep clean and not very expensive. The product Woodbridge mentioned would be one the most cost effective. just be sure to caulk the base well were it meets the counter.
