#DIYMySpring Berry Basket Tote

I love the look of berry basket totes but have never happened upon one anywhere. With my stash of berry baskets that I picked up at a sale, I decided to make my own DIY tote!
My faux version of an antique berry basket makes a wonderful spring centerpiece on my dining table and, I think, looks pretty authentic! I've really been kicking up my vintage decor a notch, all beginning with my vintage farmhouse bathroom makeover and this box really adds some more vintage charm to my dining area!
After taking this old desk organizer apart, I used the bottom for the base of my tote and built sides with furring strips. After gluing it all together, I stained it in Special Walnut.
For the handles, I cut an old ruler and attached it to the sides of the tote. I love using old rulers, like when I made this sentimental box.

Then I used dowels, both new and repurposed, for the handle. The entire project was put together with only a few cuts, a couple holes and glue.
I added label holders to 4 berry baskets and placed them in the tote. Then I filled them up with grass, eggs, moss and a few small flowers. I just adore the look of it and it hardly cost anything at all!
