Card Catalog With Faux Treatment

The faux card catalog started as a inexpensive DVD cabinet.
The cabinet holds hundreds of DVD's. Although DVD's are slowly becoming dinosaurs, we don't plan on getting rid of them just yet.
It actually has remained in fairly good shape given that it's pressed wood with a paper overlay.

Each door panel was enough to make 10 faux drawers. In total, giving me four horizontal drawers by five vertical drawers, or 20 faux card catalog drawers.
After I cut and stained the faux card catalog drawers I used small finishing nails to tack the wood squares onto the cabinet.
I painted the entire piece and went back around faux drawers with paint and distressed a bit more

I added the hardware that completes the look. You can see where I purchased them on my blog.
You can easily recreate this look with any old cabinet!
