I live in Ct, and I want to start some seeds for my flower garden. Is too early?

There are certainly some flower seeds you could start. Looking at your forst dates, it seems like they average about mid-May, so you are about 10 weeks out. Some flowers should be started about 10 weeks (or more) out, so you are probably in good shape. Here is probably too much information about the last frost date in CT. I don't know where Central Village is, but you probably know which of these locations is closest to you: http://cdo.ncdc.noaa.gov/climatenormals/clim20supp1/states/CT.pdf And here is a document about planting flowers from seed. It has a ton of information, but probably most important is the list at the end that gives planting dates for a variety of flowers: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/ext/ho-14.pdf

As Steve indicates, Karrie, you need to figure out when your last frost date is-for you I expect it is toward the end of May-and count back from there based on what you want to grow. Broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower take five to seven weeks to reach the size for transplanting while tomatoes, peppers and eggplant may need eight or more weeks. The information should be on the seed packet. In addition, some seeds can be planted directly as soon as the ground can be worked without becoming cloddy (late March to early April). These include beets, peas, radishes, spinach, carrots, and lettuce.
