Room Makeover: Living With a Splash of Green

Medium
This living room makeover was done almost two years ago. I just woke up one morning and thought.. 'my living room is so boring and dull, it needs colour!' (much to my husbands despair I might add)! For all those who follow my blog, they will know just how much I love colour.
Fortunately for me, the timings of these thoughts couldn't have come at a better time! It was Spring season in the UK at the time, so all the vibrant, fresh colours that I would need for this makeover, were out and ready to buy in my local home departments stores. Yay!
Here is a BEFORE picture of my living room. Slightly embarrassed to share it, but I want you to get an idea of what I had mean by it needing an 'injection of colour'. It was all too dark , not the best decor for an an already dark and dreary UK
I also hacked the IKEA EXPEDIT Cubes to make a seating in the dining corner. I used old green curtains to make the seating cover. I just love IKEA hacks! You can see more of my IKEA HACKS here .

My sofa got a face lift - I painted it a light grey and white using valspar paint. This was my first time painting fabric and have to say I'm pretty happy with the results! You can check out out the full tutorial 'how to paint a fabric sofa' here

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I'm hoping some of you can relate to my sudden need to re-decorate! Have you ever revamped a room in your home? What do you think of the colours I have used?
