How to Make Anything Into a Coat Rack!

Bright Green Door
by Bright Green Door
Recently we moved into a new house and the front entry was looking pretty sad and neglected. I love having a place for guests to hang their coat, so I was on the hunt for an affordable coat rack for this wall.
I love to thrift and every time I had come across a set of old wood shoe stretchers I would always grab them! Finally inspiration hit and I knew that I just had to use them to make a coat rack!

This was a super simple DIY that just involved pre-drilling the back of each shoe stretcher.

Then I hung them on a black board but putting a screw through the back of the board and into each wood shoe.

All together this project cost me under $5 and makes a bold statement at our front door!
Now our entryway is an inviting place where guests can hang their coat. Çute. When mounted are the shoe trees flat against the wall? If not maybe turn toe up or add a bracket on back to angel toe outwards to hang shoes (partially) on in entry way or mud room
