Lately, I am busy having fun with rag wreaths. All you need is a form, some fabric (cloth or otherwise) and some time to sit and play! You can make it in any color, and the material I used for this one can go outdoors.
3 ingredients to make this pretty wreath
Can you guess what those three ingredients are??
plastic tablecloth, tulle, wreath form
I bought two, but only needed one plastic tablecloth for this wreath. So one 97 cent tablecloth, a one dollar wreath form and $1.97 for the tulle.
pull your loop up through
Fold the 6 inch piece of plasic in half. Pull the loop up behind the metal.
pull the tails through the loop
Pull the tails of the length through the loop on the front of your form.
this is what the loop looks like, pulled snug
It helps if you precut your strips. I like mine about six inches long and an inch or so wide.
add tulle attached the same way, alternating
I cut tulle in lengths, using the width right off the roll. Play with how often you alternate it until you get the look you want.
keep working your rows
Keep working your rows. You may find yourself adding and subtracting the two materials as you work your way around. You can easily undo the loops if you want it to look a little different.
fluff it and add or subtract to get your look
I spend some time fluffing and adjusting until I like how it looks.
you can add anything you want, a ribbon, etc.
This is an optional wood crow I added as a suggestion. It cost $1.97 at Walmart.
Suggested materials:

I did something similar...but I actually made the wreath wire form out of a clothes hanger bent to shape and using the hanger on top bent to be hanger for door, etc I had been saving our newspaper bags for some time with this project in mind...on Sunday and some other days they are orange and not clear ...so I cut the bags to size and tied them around the clothes hanger form....I haven't finished yet....but also have some orange tulle and thought that i might use pipe cleaners to run from back to front and twist the pipe cleaners around pieces of candy for special small neighborhood kids to chose what treat they want. :) I have some black carry out food trays to cut bats out of and maybe simple cats to go around the wreath. Easy Peasy...

Sounds fun! Be sure to post pictures! I've added a skeleton to mine now that it's closer to Halloween. The plastic and tulle really holds up well.
