Simple Spring Decor- Paper Straw Bird Silhouette

I love paper straws!! I see them everywhere and sometimes I just can't resist buying them (especially the packs with cute little patterns). I bought several of them a few months ago. When I was planning some simple spring projects, I knew these straws would be perfect!
This project is so simple!

You will need:

-Paper straws

-Printout of the shape you want (you can search for this online)

-Carbon paper

-Hot Glue

-Frame (and paint if you use a thrift store frame like mine)
I mention the carbon paper because I chose to trace my shape onto another sheet of paper (the back of the paper that came in my frame) before cutting it out. If you plan ahead better then I did, you can print it onto a paper the right size for your frame. However you decide to do it, you will then cut out the inside of the shape.

It is important to cut out the INSIDE in order to get the silhouette!
Now, place the straws in the order you like for your pattern and hot glue them down (I used the cardboard from my frame).
Then place the paper with the silhouette on top of the straws. I used mod podge to secure the paper to the straws.
I found a frame at the thrift store and painted it. Finally, I placed the silhouette back into the frame.
Now I have this cute little bird silhouette! I just love this for spring! You can see the full post and many more spring projects on my blog for the Hometalk blog hop!
