Upcycling Tools Into Amazing Decor

Whether they’re in the back of the garage, behind the shed, or in that old toolbox in the back of the closet, most of us have old tools. For some of us those tools are worth their weight in gold just as they are, for others maybe not so much. But for the latter, what’s to be done with those tools? The answer is to turn them into something beautiful. In the spirit of National Tool Day, we’ve assembled this list of unique and functional upcycles for those old tools that will have you celebrating Tool Day all year long!
And don’t worry, for those of you who don’t have the old tools hidden away in the garage, older tools with a lot of personality are easy to find at thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets. They are usually very inexpensive and can be used for these projects as well.
Rake Stemware Holder

Whether in a country, urban, or shabby chic decor theme this whimsical stemware holder will fit in beautifully. It could also be used to hang cooking utensils if positioned conveniently in the kitchen, or as a coat rack near the door.
Elevated Decor- All you need to make this fun and unique shelving unit is an old ladder, some screws, and reclaimed planks. This would look exceptionally nice in an airy living room or as an accent to a darker “man cave”. It’s also sturdy enough to be used outdoors, which would make a great place to set up the bar for your next garden party or cookout!
Rolling In Flowers-Have an old wheelbarrow that doesn’t get used? Instead of throwing it out, why not use it as a planter? It’s easy to paint even moderately rusty barrows, or leave the rust on to bring a contrast of age and youth into your garden tableaux! These could also be laid on their side to create the effect of cascading blooms.
