DIY Kitchen Message Center

As I gave my kitchen a facelift one thing that was important to me was cleaning off my fridge!!! I have an empty wall that I dedicated to 'message center'! I took an old cork board, covered it, screwed precut sheet metal below that, then chalkboard covered board below that. The result... a place for our papers, calendars, magnets... and a nice clean fridge! See post below, the chalkboard post is with the kitchen reveal here... http://www.ccmcafeeperspective.com/2013/05/the-after-after-kitchen-reveal.html
Kitchen message center, complete with cork, metal, and chalkboard.
Someone was going to throw this out! I painted the frame first, then covered it.
For more about covering a cork board check the blog post here... http://www.ccmcafeeperspective.com/2013/04/kitchen-cork-board.html
Completed cork board... cute!!!
I had precut sheet metal (16x20) that I punched w/ my crop-o-dile, then screwed into the wall.
The bottom is for the chalkboard.
Painted a thin board w/ chalkboard paint.
Predrilled holes, then screwed it right to the wall as well.
