Try rubbing any type of an oily substance (mayo, oil, peanut butter etc) into the wood with a soft cloth making sure you leave on long enough to bring the stains to the surface then follow with a cleaning of white vinegar 50-50- mixture in a spray bottle.

For white water marks, use a hair dryer or heat gun and blow over the stain. The white mark disappears magically and permanently. I did this to a table that my parents gave me and pleasantly surprised my father who wanted to do the same thing, but my mom was afraid to let him do it. I too thought that the high heat could damage the finish but it did not. I did not need to hold the heat gun too close to the table before the white marks disappeared. Good luck. It works.

I use coconut oil and it actually changes the surface to lok like new. Even on antique furniture that has cracks in the varnish.

I was going to suggest the vinegar also but without the oil. Or orange glow works well but may remove some of the finish. Let us know which one worked for you good luck

For water stains on wood, a generous coat of real mayonnaise on the water mark, and let set for hours. For the stains, I would try genuine Pine-Sol undiluted and let that set for at least 15 minutes.

Coconut oil works well too. Takes longer to dry. Have fun and send us pics!!

Apply a very thin layer of petrolatum (petroleum Jelly) making sure the table is completely covered. After 3 hours slowly remove the petrolatum. If the wood is still too dark, apply again and remove after a couple of hours. That should remove it.

Easiest product I have ever found that works on all the white faded areas from water, heat, sun, steam and scratches was invented for antiques a long time ago. Its called Finish Rejuvenator and its a miracle. I don't know how to expain how it works because it has no color but it works on any color of wood and leaves no greasy fingerprints or buildup. You put it on and wipe it off and it lasts for years and the white areas do not come back. I use it for dog and cat scratches on my wood. If you live in the Tulsa area its in stores but its also online. www.thevictorianhouseproducts.com Check it out for yourself. I will never be without a bottle or two myself.
