I have been looking for a good way to update my counters without spending a ton of money. I'm a DIYer so this looks like something that would be easy enough to do once the steel was cut. Is there any special glue used or could you use something like epoxy or just liquid nails?

Yes, stainless steel is always a hot metal for designers. Occasionally, we'll get projects like these, and we love it.

My experience with my stainless steel appliances is that they are not really stainless. I'd be wary of putting SS on the countertops and finding myself re-polishing them every time somebody set down a coffee cup.
