How to Create a Custom Stairway Runner For Less!

Custom stair way runners are expensive. To save money, I found separate runners on sale at a low price and pieced them together!
To make this work, you need to use runner without a border design to make the runner look like one piece after installation. Although, if you prefer one with a border, the tops can be cut (just make sure you measure accordingly for that) I actually used outdoor runners which look great, are durable and because I didn't spend a lot, can be replaced if/when I want a new look.
Before.
After!
The runner gives the foyer a "pop" of colour and is fun and unexpected in the space! Visit me on Facebook or follow me on Hometalk! ;)

II was directed here from Hometalk. I thought there would be more details for the stair runner project. I can’t find any instructions... unless I am totally missing something. Also, what are the metal rods on the floor next to your staircase? How many runners did you use? I am feeling left out in the cold.

We Bought a runner and installed it our selves . We used brad nails under the lip of the tread and in the back of the Runner . Easy and if your using more than one rug you just back it up to the lip of the tread and the seam does not show . Nothing hard about that and it looks good to.

I do like the look of the pattern you chose even if you didn't put it in yourself its still worth adding the idea to hometalk thank you .Now if I want to change mine I know I can use two or more as you did if I cant find one long enough.
