Forsythia & Lavender Spring Wreath

Still on the hunt for that perfect spring wreath? Spring time has me itching for wild and whimsical wreaths in happy colors. I was particularly inspired by the forsythia and lavender greenery at Hobby Lobby. Give yourself time to be creative, sip tea while you shape the greenery and you will have made more than a wreath. You will have spent an hour or so fully alive. :)
For a large wreath, you will need:
Use wire cutters to snip the lavender stalks from the base (if you purchase a bouquet).
First, shape the forsythia to fit the form and arrange where you'd like it to be on the form.
Next, shape lavender to form and place around/among/over forsythia to create the look you'd like. Try not to make everything look too stiff or it will take away from the whimsy of the design.
To secure the florals, tie a long piece (about 15") of fishing line around the stalks a couple times and make a triple knot. Don't tie the knot too tight or it will make your florals look too stiff. Leave a little wiggle room.
For extra flair, add a chalkboard. I tucked the top into the frame....
...and tied the bottom to the base. Tip: Look for chalkboards with holes punched in the edges for easier attachment.
