A Cabinet Makeover From Somewhat Quirky Design

When we first moved into this house in 2006, I did a little update on this vintage cabinet.
I liked it then and I like it now, but I've been transitioning my dining room and it was time for a change.
I'd been looking, and looking, and looking again, at this inspiration photo from my Furniture Transformations board on Pinterest. I was pretty sure this was what I wanted to do to freshen up the look of my cabinet.
I painted it with 3 coats of Pure & Original White. I did not prime. If I had primed, or painted the cabinet grey first I probably could have gotten by with 2 coats.
There is a full description of how I did the artwork on the front of the cabinet in my blog post. It was very easy. You won't believe what I used for this!
I tried to keep things relatively in scale by placing actual plates, bowls, etc., over the drawings and surprisingly they are indeed relatively in scale. Not completely, just relatively!
I did a lot of experimenting with accessories for the top and wasn't happy with any of them. I have some plans for what I am going to do to complete this little vignette. But, who knows how long it will take me to get to it!
For more information on how I completed this project check out the blog url at the bottom of this post. You can post comments or questions in the comments section of the blog post. I would be glad to answer any questions that you might have there.
Another project I completed for my dining room can be found HERE.
And you can check out this beautiful slipcover I made for an old settee HERE.
