Mid-Century Desk Makeover

Are you like me and want to decorate your home but only have a small budget to work with? The majority of the pieces of furniture in my home all come from yard sales, thrift stores and estate sales. I have been able to achieve a high end look with a bargain basement budget. Spring yard sales will be popping up everywhere and you can't beat the prices. With a little elbow grease and some paint you can transform them into the dream pieces you see on Pinterest.
I found this vintage vanity at an estate sale last summer.
I knew right off the bat that it was a piece I was going to keep for myself.

I had been looking for a desk for quite awhile that I was going to use in our office. All of the ones I liked online were out of my price range, and this one was the exact shape and size I wanted, and all I needed to do was give it a paint job.

I gave it a coat of Amy Howard's One Step Paint in Ballet White and then I gave the inside a coat of One Step in Table for One.

I also took off the hardware and gave it a coat of Krylon's Bright Gold.

Amy Howard's One Step paint doesn't require wax to seal it, but since this was going to be a piece that received a lot of traffic, I went ahead and gave it a light coat just to be safe. It turned out so cute! To see the finished project and the other girls in the tour head over to the link down below!

Thank you Hannah! It took me awhile to find what I was looking for, but as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one!
