Like candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach? Gold diggers need not reply.
Nope, this isn't a cheesy personals ad.
But if you like seashells and gold, brass, silver and metallic tones, then I have the perfect DIY project match for you: two super-easy techniques for gilding and gold leafing seashells. (You can use shells you find at the beach or the craft store!)

Thelma Serna on Jun 10, 2013I live on the west coast, and to clean our shells we place them in a bucket of water with a little bleach.....cleans and takes away all fishy odor.....plus any creatures that are hiding. I leave them in bucket for a week somewhere out of the way of pets and kids...then rinse well and we dry them on old news papers....

Mer1585420 on Jul 02, 2015Amy I tried using the Martha Stewart Liquid Guilding. It was easy to use. However when I sprayed the High Gloss Enamel Sealer ( as recommended) it turned the guilding RED! No gold tone ...just red. What happened????
