would love to hear about and see all suggestions. Then, there are the oils, crackle, chalk, etc. Just looking for a way to use them up at little cost to me.

give them to a local Art Center, Elementary School Art Teacher or a local Girls/Boys Club. They all will put them to a great use...using them up for you.

Thank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question because I am trying to use them, or I will take them to market and sell the whole box.

You can use them to make stenciled art on recycled wood, inexpensive art canvases, grouping of rulers, grouping of paint sticks, pallets. You can purchase wood ornaments to paint for gifts.

Kimberly, thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas. I have done what you suggested and then some. I am debating over a wall mural, or something else that I haven't done. I like where you are heading though.

@Terri J What do you have around, inside or out?? That's the real question. :*) From there, we can have an "Idea Party"!
  • Eileen Bezembinder Eileen Bezembinder on May 20, 2013
do you have children.. if so... why not a wall with chalkboard (or chalkboard that is magnetic) paint and a mural.... something that they can draw on... after you have made roads buildings with no curtains etc. just my 2 cents
  • Terri J Terri J on May 21, 2013
Eileen - no children and my sister doesn't want anymore paint for the my little nieces. Sia@South 47th - I have drop cloth covering an old, but still functioning couch, dressers, desks, cardboard, antique glasses, chna, - you name it, and it is probably inside. Outside, old beat up shed, wooden carport - that would be cool to do something with, deck- just done, sidewalk, chain link fencing, old chandelier torn apart and using for flower pot, ceramic flower pots, plastic ones, and so on... Does that give you a start? I hope so.

@Terri J Yeppers! Let the "Creative Party Begin!". You want to tackle out or in first>? I'm feeling the carport, and shed. I've ck'd and you are very creative. Where do you want to start? Out or in? I'm really feeling the shed and carport, just a second plug :)

Sia @Sout 47th - b/c our weather is so unpredictable right now - rain storms for the next week, I think in would be better. Feel free to send anything though, and I will save it~~~ Looking forward to getting the party going!!
  • Sia@South 47th Sia@South 47th on May 21, 2013
@Terri J OK! Let's do this IN thing! (or score a tarp and consider that doggone shed ;)) I'm headed to bed in 10 min and will send the "Launch Party" tomorrow evening California Time! Yeeha! Can't wait to see all the FAB ideas you're going to be bombarded with! xo
  • Terri J Terri J on May 21, 2013
Sia - I never made it to bed, so I don't know how active I will be tonight. I can't wait to see the ideas coming in either. I can at least collect them though, and then we'll sort them out! I have ideas for the shed, but may just leave it alone for now. I have got to get my camera ready for b4 and after photos.

Sia is awesome :) I'm curious as well. I have a plethora of acrylics, but always have the concern that they will 'come off' anything other than ceramics or wood (paper of course). So I'd love to take part in this party as well! I think something with the drop cloth would be cool. Is it a plain beigy color?
  • Terri J Terri J on May 21, 2013
Leah - welcome to the party!!! My drop cloth on the couch is beigy color. I understand your concerns about knowing and not knowing what kind of paint to use on what for fear of it being washed or cleaned off. To make it even more difficult now, they have "special paints" for every surface or so it seems I have never used acrylic on cloth before.... wondering and thinking.

Acrylics will stay on cloth... I use acrylics and have "paint classes" with my grandchildren. I just bought new upholestry material for my dining room chairs that have numerous colors on them and can't figure out how in the heck to get bright pink off my beige sofa (I don't know HOW that happened or which one did it lol)...
  • Terri J Terri J on May 21, 2013
I know hair spray works for ink, but paint??? You may be better off asking one of the pro's, b/c I would be scared I would ruin your sofa forever.

I love drop cloths! DO you like the "Map" look? How about something like this (using whatever colors you want of course) It could go "Abstract"(easy peasy, very arsty), "French Chic" ( with those great Graphics Fairy Graphics that are free), Country, Tone on tone? Here is a pic of the map look, not the best but You could certainly make it awesome : http://froufrugal.blogspot.com/2011/03/settee-big-finish.html. I'm just getting started LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Terri J Terri J on May 22, 2013
You got it - that is something I was looking for!!!. My couch is already covered in drop cloth, and I was playing around with some things - paint stirrer's to bring nasty lamp back to life. I don't think I could do a whole map - was thinking of a sunset over the island. I have more oranges, red's, violet's, blue -green color's than anything else. Thanks for sending that, and keep coming back, please.
  • Sia@South 47th Sia@South 47th on May 22, 2013
You're welcome and I think the Sunset would be fantastic! xo

Got it, plus my own, and ones I have collected since being a teenager. Started thinking Florida, MD, NY or AZ as my inspiration, b/c those are places I am tied to. xo

What about a giant canvas and a splatter painting? I want to try that one.

I let my grandkids paint rocks and they place them in borders, gardens, and wherever I suggest. I have some really great and colorful rocks. They initial and date. If the paints are not outdoor paints, spray with a sealer.
