How To Make Art Look Larger

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
We are awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild, who is a little toddler girl being adopted from Thailand. When we were decorating her room, we wanted it to be feminine but with a touch of safari. We used pastel colors but added some pillows and art of jungle animals.
The area over the twin daybed is a large wall, and the painting that we bought of an elephant was just too small for the space. We knew that an easy solution would be to mount that painting onto a larger canvas.
Using a coupon, we bought a 36 by 48 inch plain canvas at a craft store. We used craft paint, and painted it yellow. We let it dry for a few hours.
Then we measured to make sure the painting would be centered on the canvas. We used painter's tape to mark where the edges should go. We used Command strips to attach the painting to the canvas. If you do this, be sure to have the measurements correct because once the art is on the canvas, it cannot be moved. Please visit our blog to see a complete tour of the room where this painting now hangs.
