For the Birds...Natural Nesting Material Bag ~

We've got a very bird friendly backyard offering our feathered friends food, water and shelter ~ now that spring is upon us I wanted to add natural materials for nest building to the mix...
These sweet little mandarins are a favorite in our house & the mesh bag they come in was exactly what I had in mind for my nesting materials ~
Birds use all sorts of different materials to construct their nests, sticks, grasses, leaves, feathers...I used items I had on hand ~ pieces of natural twine & sisal cut short for safety , dried leaves and llama fur for a little fluff ~
I filled the bag with the nesting materials, weaved a piece of twine through the mesh and cinched it up!
Ready for the birds ~ let the nest building begin :)

Quick, easy & free...my kind of project!

My towels and wash clothes are white and cotton, so I have no problem using the dryer lint for the birds to use. Also, I never use fabric softener for the towels/wash clothes.

Make the length of yarn short under 5" so they don't tangle the bird's in them.
