Dream Bed

Marcela Pena
by Marcela Pena
I wanted to add interest to a sommier by adding a headboard.
At an auction, found this antique pair of headboard and footboard, French Style. I was sure that some paint and the addition of "magical touches" would turn it into a dream bed
Painted it white, with a golden edge
Used plaster and stencil to make these raised effecto of flowers.
Added gems, pearls, sequins and embroided leaves.
The result was exactly what I wanted!

I LOVE every single bit of it..I have questions thoug. You added the lace and pearls, but because we get dust in our houses, how would you clean it? What did you use over the plaster to keep it from chipping and fading? and did you use anything over the lace and pearl accents? Also, where did you get the stencil, or the name of it if you have that info? Thank you so much.. I am going to try this on my Hope Chest in a much smaller scale. I am excited! I betcha' couldn't tell... :)
