Linen closet dilemma

This is a very small linen closet with only one shelf. The problem is that there is no door, a small curtain rod to hang a curtain, but the shower curtain is too long and doesn't look good. Does anyone have any solution? I have racked my brain.

There is iron on hem tape. It's easy to find and easy to use, if you just want to shorten the curtain without sewing. There is also a product that acts like a fabric glue, which seals the hem, again without sewing.

I had the same problem except my closet was taller. I used a long shutter and put hindges on it. Try to find a small shutter

I would put up a door to that it becomes less obvious of a situation.

I think a flat panel door would be best. It could be painted to freshen up the look of the bathroom.

Looks like someone cut an access opening to be able to get a the tub plumbing from behind the tub. I would put in extra shelves spaced about one foot apart. Get some basket bins to put on the shelves and put everything in the bins. Another option would be to get different colored plastic bins and use those. I also would paint the trim as close to the wall color as possible.

Weah i would paint the inside a nice bright white, added multiple shelves that can be removed if access is needed, add a bunch of wire baskets and decorate it that way. Make it look like a book shelf type of thing. You could put new trim on it and make it look like a custom built in shelving unit.

Paint the inside with a nice light color. Then go to your local dollar store and get a few wicker baskets. I have a very small closet in the bathroom also but what I do is roll all the towels, wash cloths and hand towels and then put them in the baskets. They stay neat and organized. You can also but a single curtain panel and rod at the dollar store.

I would probably do a paint job as mentioned above, add a shelf or two ( it's not expensive or difficult) and leave it open. Another possibility is a tension curtain rod to hang short items on. Remember the cost since it is a rental. Most landlords will pay for the materials if they feel that it is an improvement that is benificial to their property

I would take out the shelve and install a rod at the top behind the wall so that you can put in hanging shelves like these. There many different sizes and colors to choose from.

As with everyone else brighten up the inside. Wallpaper n paint will do wonders. Rolling your linens would look better than stacking.

Insert shelves, it is easy to do. You can put up a door easily by taking off the trim. Go to your local lumber yard or home store, they will even cut the plywood you purchase to your dimensions. Buy hinges, install them on the door, then on the wall. You will have instruction with the hinges.

I would pull everything out of the linen closet & either paint or wallpaper it inside. Then I would add either wire or wood shelves (easy to do. ) You can put baskets on some of the shelves, to brighten it up - so it doesn't look like it needs a door, or put up a door. If you want to use baskets, you can widen the opening. If you want to use a door, they're easy to make. When you're finished making the door, just put on hinges and a handle before you install it. You can make one long door, or two shorter doors. On the bottom half, you could put in a tip out laundry bin. (It has to be a little narrower then the opening, so you'd want to widen your opening to maximize usage of the available space.)

I would ad some wood shelves. I would also go to good will or a habitat for humanity shop and see if they have a tall shutter for a door. Just paint and add the hinges. It doesn't have to be exactly the size of the door....it could go above the door top if the shutter is taller than the door.

I would agree with Elizabeth but she types faster, LOL. I too would say to add more shelves inside. Then get some hinges and find a long window shutter to use as a door. That brown molding on the outside may have to come off. Screw the hinge side as close to the tub side as you can, as long as the shutter is wide enough.

Okay take a deep breath and first remove the trim around the door, next do the the hardware store and buy pull out shelves [ often found in the kitchen area] now paint the interior a nice enamel [ reflects light] install shelves for the bottom area get a small tension rod and a cute towel [ hem towel for the rod] place hooks on the walls of the bottom area for toilet brush or Use this area as a hamper Noe buy some plastic containers baskets ect to store shampoo ect in place towels on shelves. finally use shoe molding around the exterior of the door and flat thin trim for the interior edge of door. I had the same problem and after trying and failing this worked and looked great.

I agree with dividing the space w/ shelves, and placing bins (some $ stores have lg:12''x12"x12" bins), for face clothes, hand towels, etc.
