First, you need to know how much fabric the shirt allows you, then you have several options. Use your special fabric for a front of your pillow and another for the back. If you have enough fabric to do both front and back you are golden. I am referring to simple knife edges now. Another option is to sew a few pieces from any part of the shirt together (like for a quilt) and then cut your top piece, be it square or what ever you can fit.

Have a pet or family photo you love, put it on a transfer using your ink jet printer and a piece of cloth then make yourself a special pillow. Great gift idea. I make transfer t-shirts and sell them at the flea market in Ft Myers, FL. Am going to make some pillows for next season.

Cut the arms off at the arm seams, then cut the shirt horizontally, cutting away the neck. Turn the tube you have left inside out, sew the bottom shut, and the sides you just cut the arms from also. Turn it right side out, then fold the top rough edge inside the tube about an inch, press that hem allowance flat. Use pillow form or stuffing of your choice to fill, then top stitch together, working as close to the edges of the fabric as possible :)
