Beautiful headboard, Rhonda. I love its shape. Great idea for the shutter, too. -
This is gorgeous! Well done! -
Great job on the headboard, Rhonda, and I am always happy to see shutters being creatively repurposed. -
Beautiful job. -
Love the shutter idea...might have to try this! -
I love the ideas . -
I suprised my wife a few yrs. back and did this with an old, steel garage service door ..antiqued it and trimmed it out. Also added some reading lights. Turned out pretty good.-

Love the color too! -
Old shutters are the best things....... I've used them for planters, to hang stuff from (like this one) and a couple hinged together for a small privacy screen for the porch. Still have a few left - this old house has plenty of windows! -
Love the beautiful refurbished headboard. The green is the perfect color! Shutter is also very, very nice!! -
very pretty. What color was the wood when you started? Did you have to strip it? -
the wood was a med. brown, not a walnut but not a maple, but I did not strip it. lightly sanded and painted the green with a dry brush tech. and then dry brushed a little bit of cream over it, when that was dry I used a med. gel stain on top and wiped it for an antique effect. -
wow, thanks for the inspiration, been trying to come up with something like that -
Thank you. I love it. -
Very nice job on Re-using and Re-purposing someone elses trash and making it into your treasure!!!! I especially love the shutter idea! Thanks for sharing this Rhonda! -
Beautiful job on the bedroom as a hole .... Love all of it! -
BTW: I went to my roadside and reclaimed a shutter my forward-thinking husband threw away for garbage. Inspired after joining this website. You have justified my reasoning.
