Lane Traditional Desk Makeover

This desk was an estate sale steal, thanks to my husband's awesome negotiation skills. I forgot to take a picture of it before I started work, but here's a good start.
The desk was sanded down, filled with Bondo, the grain was filled with MH Ready Patch after my first attempt to sand down and stain backfired and looked terrible. The picture above is the fully sanded top.
Lots of Bondo and TSP used on this piece. It was SO dirty.
It's a bit of a shame that I had to paint over the wood inlay, but I tried to stain it first - promise!

This was painted in a custom mix of @general finishes "Coastal Blue" + "Lamp Black". I sprayed the paint and sealed up with 3 coats of satin polyurethane.
I used general finishes "Antique Walnut" gel stain on the drawer fronts.
Hope you enjoyed! Stop by my blog for additional information.
