Palette Day Bed

In our current house, we had an extra space we started calling the loft. We debated for quite a while what the best use of the space should be since we don't need a playroom or anything like that. We decided to create a space for overflow guest sleeping or a teenager hang-out.
We actually had two twin beds we purchased for use while we were working on the house, but hadn't yet moved.
Not wanting our guests to have to sleep on the floor and not wanting to spend a great deal of money, we went looking for some free palettes.
One of the most important aspect of using palette wood, in my mind, is safety. Many palettes are treated with chemicals and you want to be sure to do a little research before you make a bed out of palettes for children or for extended use.
We cleaned ours very well with bleach and then sanded the tops smooth so that the mattress would not be torn up by the rough wood. (Be sure to wear a respirator while sanding.)

Lisa House on May 26, 2016Nicely done! Some of the comments are pretty funny to read probably because of the computers putting in the wrong words and lack of proofreading.
