It's A Peony Parade
I love this time of year when the peonies are blooming, the sun is shining and everything is right with the world. OK, these plants really, really put me in a good mood!
I have three of them so far and am going to pick up one or two more this weekend. The ONLY downfall to these plants is that the blooms get so stinking big that they tend to fall over, but I have peony rings around them to keep them as upright as possible.

@Liliana Wells Mine are planted on the South side of the house so they get sun most of the day except for the early morning and early evening. And I planted them about 3-4 feet from the foundation. I do stake them, but I buy the round wire ones that sort of look like a hula hoop that stands about two feet off the ground. The peonies sort of hide that kind of stake because it blends in to the foliage. The peony blooms are heavy, so if you don't stake them they can bend the stalk over and break it in two. I have all sorts of flowers in that bed so that something is pretty much always in bloom. I have iris and a lilac blooming in early spring, then the peonies put on their show, my calla lilies just got done blooming and the purple coneflower are going strong now. In the fall, the autumn joy sedum and mums are colorful. I have also seen just a straight line of peonies and that looks beautiful also. It's just that after they bloom you just have their green foliage for the rest of the summer. I'm attaching a photo, but you'll need to click on it to enlarge it. This is about 1/2 the bed, but it will give you a general idea. Oh, and I just took this photo right now, so the yellow arrows point to where two of the peonies are (but they are just green leafy plants right now).

I love your garden against the brick house. I will have time to plan so I can plant the peonies in October. Thanks for the ideas.
