US measurements to Metric

I saw a post here on hometalk for building a princess loft http://www.hometalk.com/diy/bedroom/furniture/a-princess-bedroom-with-a-loft-bed-942501 I am trying to figure out how to convert all the measurements to the metric system and was wondering if anyone had an easy tool to use or recommend.

2.54 cm to the inch... What might be easier is to pick up a tape measure that has both metric and english units. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM2675863702P

Maybe you could buy a tape measure with both measurements on it try the fabric store. Hope this helps good luck.
