Years.3-5 possibly more. some had disintegrated and some seem fragile, altho I can still feel the bulb. Definitely not like healthy new ones.

It can't hurt to try planting them. Better than just throwing them away.

I like the idea of putting them in the ground and taking a chance. What do you have to loose?

We had ones that were 1.5yrs old ... they popped out the next spring!
  • Sure..plant them. My Mom occasionally would forget about some bulbs and ended up planting them the following years...they came up just fine. We were in upstate NY back then and the bulbs were kept in a fairly cold root cellar so that might make a difference...as the others said...not much to lose so happy planting!
