Going from colonial to Beach - Hutch Makeover With Milk Paint

A teak, colonial style, hutch received a major makeover with milk paint. I painted her with mustardseed milk paint in grainsack grey with shutter grey stripes.
I found the milk paint quite a challenge to get used to, but I absolutely love how this furniture painting project turned out.
The milk paint has a beautiful color that changes with the light fall. It goes from white in the sun to a beautiful grey on a cloudy day.
Adding the stripes gave the hutch a definite pezazz.
The smooth finish on the shelves and doors of the hutch made it necessary to use some bonding agent.
Decorating the hutch when it was finished was the fun part.
Now that you are not greeted by a big dark hutch, the living room looks twice as big.
Here is the before. Quite a difference.....
