very Nice... -
Huge job done very well. Hope you served him a special dinner when he finished. You both should be proud; he of the work he did, and you for the son you have. -
cool creative and recycle, no waste -
Becky, yes I did, I also had to help the whole deal.... someone had to help hold the pieces as he secured them! I"m very proud of his work! -
In Central and South America, they do that with pasture lands....and the limbs SPROUT! Then they trim those limbs and plant another fence. The cows eat the leaves from the branches and so on and son on. Called a Living Fence. -
I noticed some of our limbs are sprouting also LOL!! -
Awww I decided to go with giant morning glory to vine up the fence vs the ivy... i sowed my seeds just a week ago and the sprouts are already up around an inch! I'll post updated photos once they've grown up the fence line for privacy screen... package says they'll vine from 8-10 ft!! Can't wait! -
Sounds awesome--can't wait to see! -
It's going to look amazing. can't wait to see either! -
Is this type fence called a wattle fence....I love it..! -
I don' t know what it's called Bonnie, I call it my 'Josh' fence lol -
Do you have new pics yet of the morning glories? -
Bonnie, a wattle fence would have woven wood-often willow, or another young sapling-between the uprights. For a project that size, Josh might still be at it! -
Mary, not yet, the first seeds i planted started and we got that week long freeze after,so I've now started new batch, they are only up about 4" off the ground right now, so it's gonna be a bit. -
I love it hope I can do this too. -
What an awesome fence Cindy. I would love to see it now that the seedlings have had time to grow. -
yoo hoo! how's the morning glories going? -
Not so well in this drought but ok, not well enough for pics :( -
Oh that's too bad Cindy. I hope we really do get the rain that's forecast for this afternoon and evening. I'm tired of watering! With the blue skies and not a cloud in sight it's not likely. :^( -
I'm sorry to hear that Cindy. There's always next year right? How is the fence holding up? -
Fence is holding up great, and yeah I'm already dreaming up for next years flowers and garden, flowers not so great in this dirt even with watering, first garden got hit by that week long frost, planted a second partially and it also isn't doing great other than the long neck squash and some cherry tomatoes, next year I'm doing a straw bail garden, they'll root that easy instead of this hard clay yard. -
That's a cool look Cindy! I like that fence! -
Cindy, you don't think the presence of straw bales won't cause constant moisture that will rot your fence base? Have you considered renting a tiller and adding peat moss or something that will help loosen the clay? -
Cindy, I so wish you had some of the vines I have in my yard. No problem with them growing at all.... they take over. There are two that I don't even know the names. Then there is the nasty Virginia Creeper. I also have Wisteria vines that have beautiful blue flowers (the only one I want on my yard). Tell your son we think he is a wonderful son to do this for/with you! I would be bragging like crazy about him if he were mine. Kudo's to you both........... but a son to do this is a great thing. -
Wanna send him to NC for a while I sure could use his kind of thinking and handy dandy ideas on how to get er dun!
