Rotating Side Table

I came across this beauty and fell in love. The double level, the carved wood on pedestal and the fact that it was rotating made it very interesting to work on!
It was already beautiful in its original state, buy I didnt like the dark colour or the shiny varnish. So I started by sanding the whole piece
I painted pedestal and legs white and distressed deeply. But left both trays bare wood.
I wanted to make a tea table, so I looked for a label related . Found this in the web and transferred to the smaller plate. This time, as I was working on bare wood, I didnt use carbon paper to transfer because any stain on wood would be difficult to take off. Instead I painted the back of the paper with a black pencil, put it in place and traced the drawing so that pencil left marks on the wood.
Can you see the light markings? Enough to start painting! This time I wanted something delicate, that let see the wood below. So instead of paint I used wood stain. I learned it was possible reading Hometalk posts!
I only used the frame of my drawing, didnt transfer the letters because I will use a different text, just the word Patisserie.
Frame ready. Light oak strain for the ligh parts and dark oak for the shadows.
Using the same technique transferred and painted "Patisserie". In the end, I used clear wax for sealing. The second level will be similar, with the word Paris and only a part of the frame .
And here is my tea table finished!

Hi Marcela! When you used stain for the designs, did you dilute the stain? Do you have a link for how to use stain when stenciling?
When you painted on the ink or stain for the design how did it not run? I have tried to do this stain painting, and everytime it bleeds out past were I want it.
