no (scary thought!). Ive been in the kitchen industry for over 20 years, knowing the risks and variables of cabinets built in town or from a factory can be challenging enough. Sight unseen? Huge gamble. More often than not? They are imports and the quality control standards can be very subjective. Ex: one cabinet finish being differently toned than the next.
I see on a lot of Kitchen redo on T.V. They use Cabinets To GO, or Cabinet Liquadors, Or Cliqstudios and I can see why. The prices are half of box stores. I have had samples sent to me and the doors look great and I know thats only one door compaired to a whole kitchen. I have also check with BBB and they all come back good. I am not going by just what I see on T.V. I am really trying to do a lot of research before I make my decision.
I commend you for doing the research! As long as you remember the old cliche you get what you pay for, you should be able to make a sound decision.
Seeing single doors? ahh yes. I had few experiences with import cabinets within the last couple of years. Each time the samples were stunning. The prices were amazing. Every time there were parts and pieces that had to be changed out because of damage or poor finish matches from piece to

piece. The delays and headaches costed the homeowner, the contractor and myself. It was horrible. I swore I would never specify, buy or sell product of that price range again.
What I would encourage you to consider - industry guidelines and statistics are that a kitchen should equate to 10% of the overall cost of your home. This is huge! So quality and longevity should be high considerations being its such a huge contributor to the overall investment of owning a home.

As a cabinet builder I have to chime in. Becky Sue...stated it as well. You get what you pay for. Imported particle board boxes or those made in mass produced factories will never measure up to the better small scale or custom builds. Cabinet construction using 1/2" paper veneered products assembled with staples...compared to 3/4" ply and solid wood assembled with dados / screws etc. In my book there is no comparison.
Having the funds for the solid wood is expensive at box stores. You see I was hit with hurricane Irene having to do floors, walls, HAVC, Insulation, repairing joist,etc,etc. Has been a lot of money. Yes I did get some insurance money, everytime I go to start something ,something else comes up. My house was built in 1983, I moved into the house only 9 months before the hurricane so money is tight. So if someone could give me a better cheeper way of doing cabinets that would be great.

Cabinet Liquidators has soild wood has anyone used them for cabinets.
refacing is an option if the hardware and or cases are still sound. I would rather reface a well built cabinet than go with a entirely new "cheap" cabinet.
