Thank you for the compliments. Pat, I found the large & small hoop at K-Mart and the medium I found @ Dollar General. Later I saw all three sizes @ Walmart in the kids dept. Hula hoops brought back a lot of summertime memories, which I transferred to my design. I don't think you can do any wrong on a wreath like this because it can be made to your specific memories.

Its great to see people get creative. What a cute and fun wreath - very tropical - when is cocktail hour? and we'll all have some pina coladas at your place!

Well that definitely is more creative than most of the wreaths I see hanging.

I hate having a wreath that someone else has, which is why I make my own. Summertime is a fun time, as is Halloween. I stick with fairly traditional for Thanksgiving & Christmas. My Easter wreath was a bunch of easter eggs with spring flowers and a girl bunny.

Went to Dollar Tree today and was so excited to get 3 sizes of the hula hoops in lilac, peach and aqua. I got little flamingos, funky glasses, a lite up lantern, 3 signs. beads...and who knows what else. I was looking for a certain flip flop in a small but they were out. I have some but can try Dollar General tomorrow if need be. I'm going to pull it together tomorrow and I'll post a picture when done. I can't remember when I've been so excited to make a wreath!! Thanks Debi!

I love being able to share ideas so I'm glad I could help. I bought those funky margarita sunglasses. I broke the tentacles off so it now looks like two margaritas toasting. The Welcome sign in the center I bought at Dollar General for $3.00, they have several there. I found flip flops @ KMart for $2.00. Be sure to post, can't wait to see your variation. Hint: Hot glue the hoops together, then use fishing line wrapped around them several times to secure it. If you use the fishing ...»
line first, they will not lay flat (learned by accident) I also tied the florals on w/fishing line, works much better than glue.

I knew I had a metal crab somewhere but I culdn't find it...until today! This was what I had originally planned to put in my wreath. Your flowers are pretty. I used hibiscus because I found them for cheap at K-mart. I think its all about just having fun with it. I love your Beach House sign. Its perfect for this kind of wreath

Can't wait to see it. A friend of mine dropped by today and by the time he left, he was headed to take his girlfriend to the store to buy stuff to make a wreath. It was so funny, he took photos of mine so he could show her, they have a house on the river, so he was way excited to show her as she is also crafty.

LOL, I love it, especially the hat. Your' neighbors are going to be wanting directions! Those hula hoops sure do make you think summertime. When I was a kid we played w/those things for hours...of course we weren't allowed to be inside disturbing mama's stories either. During the day we had to stay outside, those were the house rules. If the sun was shining, you weren't allowed to sit on your butt in the house.
