Spring Birthdays are abundant in my Family. I try to make each person something special that I know that they will enjoy and use. This is one of those fun and usable goodies. Not only that but it is also an upcycle that I think she will love. I may have to make a few because I think a few people may request them once they see the finished product.
Materials:

One Wine or Champagne bottle cleaned well with top label removed.

Twine or thin rope

Hot glue

Taper candle
Step 1

Clean the Bottle and remove the top label from the bottle. I don't worry about the lower label because I am covering it with twine.

Step 2

Start at the bottom of the bottle and run a 1" line of hot glue at the start point.

Secure the end of the twine and let the glue dry so that the twine will not slide.

Continue to glue the next few rows in place to make sure the twine does not unravel.
Step 3

Once the first few rows are secure you can wrap the bottle pretty quickly. Make sure you press the twine down, to avoid any gaps in the coverage, and secure it with the hot glue every few rows.

Step 4

Glue the top 3 or 4 rows to make sure the twine does not loosen or unravel.

Press the end of the twine in place to secure it well. Remember to be very careful if you are using hot glue because it can burn.
Add a taper candle to the bottle opening and you are ready for a little ambiance. If the candle does not fit the bottle opening you can shave away some of the base. If the candle is too small heat the wax on the base of the candle and wrap a bit of twine around the bottom of the candle. If you wrap the candle base remember to watch for the candle burning too low. YOU DO NOT WANT A FIRE.
