My office project.

This project changed so much it's not even funny! I was going to build a 3 season room and place it at the edge of our woods. Instead I bought an 8 x 12 building and we didn't put it there.
Nestled back in these trees, doesn't that look like a great place for a little office?
This is where I wanted to put my office. Didn't end up there.
The building shows up!
This is the 8x12 shed that we purchased to turn into my office. The inside was nothing but bare studs. We added insulation between the studs to keep me cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Instead of using drywall, I wanted walls I could write on for story and book ideas. It also gives me room to keep track of character names and name changes. So we got tile board. It comes in 4x8 sheets and used that to do the walls.
As you can see there is writing on the walls. This little desk provides a spot for guests or my daughter (who is my editor) when someone wants to hang out with me.
I was able to find a cheap indoor/outdoor rugs at Lowes. The were 6x8 each, so two of them covered the whole floor. I have carpet in my office but refuse to have it in my house! Isn't that funny!
This is my desk. The office is powered by an extension cord from the main house on it's own circuit. It was far cheaper to do it that way than to dig a ditch and run power to wire several outlets.
The view from my desk.
The view from the door. The walls are "sectioned" off, each section is for a different story or book. When it's no longer needed, it is erased.
We added tile board to the door for quick notes.
One of my favorite photos.
My daughter bought this for me for Mother's Day because she remember me telling her about one of the first books I remember reading was about JFK. The name of the book was John F. Kennedy and PT-109 by Richard Tregaskis.
A picture of a staircase leading up to remind me to always keep going up. And a sign to remind me that I should be writing not enjoying the view!
The picture of the staircase came from Lowes, for $5. The "Books Born Here" sign is handmade from my design. It's an open book, with those words across the pages. It's made of wood by an artist in Florida.
My husband and son added stepping stones from one patio to my office patio.
The view from the house back door to my office.
