Building on a dime

I really wanted to add some rustic charm to my kitchen so I decided to set out and build my own rustic island.Once again I had no plans just an idea in my head of the finished product.Im so happy with the way it turned out and my family and I enjoy it so much.to see this project from start to finish go to www.simplysimplisticated4.blogspot.com

Very nice table. I would imagine that some small well hidden lighting from underneath might even make the plexiglass glow warmly at night.

No lighting from underneath just the reflection from the pots and pans:)

Deidre where did you get the plexi glass and how much was it? We use polycarbonate to cast on and it has it's advantages and disadvantages but if i could get my hands on some as thick as what you have there I would like to give it a try.

A little advice with the top, keep any kind of solvents off of it, just use soap and water to clean it.

This is a very old piece that was in the garage when we moved here it still had the paper on it and oh what a job it was to get it off!

I bet, nice find that stuff isn't cheap! I imagine a piece that thick in the size I need would cost at least $1000
