AK has incorporated some very cool smarthome control systems during remodels and we were wondering, what else is out there? Some systems adjust the security, heating/cooling, sound, video, and lighting automatically for comfort, convenience, and safety and can be accessed from a touch-screen control panel or your smartphone.
Other smarthome functions are focused on the bath, including the Maitre mirror from Stocco of Italy. It comes with a touch screen console that includes a built in radio, clock and barometer, a mirror demister with a sensor, and the ability to play music from your phone or iPod.
Our favorite may be the RainBrain Smart Shower by Hansgrohe. It's outfitted with an electronic touchscreen panel that allows users to control five individual shower functions; the system can be preset for up to four people. (BTW - the Hansgrohe website has an interactive tool where you can try it out virtually!)
