No don't! Don't throw away your old furniture - bring them back into your life by restoring them with chalk paints! I am so excited to be a part of The Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest! This is my first entry, and I'm thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful event!
This month's contest is being sponsored by Pure & Original paints and the theme for the month of April is Pure Colors, Original Elegance. Pure & Original is a luxury brand of paint imported from the Netherlands.
Come and see how I transformed my battered up vanity and made some magic happen!
So, here's a little back story about the piece I chose to restore. I've owned this vanity for almost twenty years. I purchased it as an antique, so I can only imagine how old it is now. I decided to give it to my daughter a few years ago as I bought a new vanity and was excited to pass it along to her.

Unfortunately, this is what she did to it. Don't judge her lol. She ended up using it for crafting projects and that's how it ended up looking like this!
With a lot of prep work. I was able to keep motivated when I revealed the reason I loved this vanity in the first place!
This vanity was beautiful in its day and I knew with some TLC and some of the best chalk paints on the market, I could bring it back into my life once again!

It was a challenge no doubt. With some nails, power tools, paint in hand, and some inspiration - this is how it turned out! I also used a wax glaze over it to ensure I don't damage the finish with all the makeup use every day. Even though you don't have to use a glaze over it - I decided to.
I'm so excited to have this vanity back in my life again. I love having so many drawers for all of my makeup! I love the decorative knobs I purchased. I think they really add a nice pop of color too!
What a huge difference these pops of color make in my bedroom. I can't express how much I love this vanity once again!
My post can use some love so please be sure to stop on over to my blog to see more about how I restored this beautiful vanity. You can also see how it looks in real life filled with all of my makeup. It's my addiction! Hope to see you there soon!

You have such an eye for creative details. The drawer pulls are unusual and just right, and I like your stain and color choices. I'm sure it must be in the complete blog, but what did you use as the bottom drawer trims? I don't recognize them from the original photos.
