Upcycled Junk Mail Seed Bouquets Tutorial

I made these origami seed bouquets a couple of years ago as mothers day gifts. They took a little time but are simple enough once you know how to fold the flowers and they are pretty inexpensive to make.
You could use plain colored paper but since I like to reuse things I stated with an old junk mail magazine and some unused house paint.
I rigged a couple of drying lines between a couple of chairs.
And experimented with mixing some of the colors to add a little more texture and interest.
Once the paper is ready. The flowers can be folded. Make as many as you want. This video shows how to make the folds.
Once my flowers were folded I added pipe cleaner stems and wrapped them with florist tape.
Then I made a small paper pouch to hold the seeds and closed it with another pipe cleaner.
I also painted some additional details on the finished flowers.
The folded seed packet fits right inside the center of the flower.
Once you have several flowers with different kinds of seeds in each they are ready to be arranged and gifted.

Thanks for checking out my project. Have a happy earth week! :-)

How unique & boy do I have plenty of catalogs to use. I'm going to have to make a "bouquet" for my garden club's fund raising auction, think they'll go over well.

If made of silk I take to tub/shower combo spray with 409 and rinse and hang upside down to drain and dry. They are like new. I do have a mini vacuum for sewing I could simply vac them. My vac that I can reverse flow of air is a 5 hp shop vac. That might be a tish to strong. thank you for the thought.
