I am a renter looking to buy a small home near a beach.

I currently live in Central Florida, and nowhere close to the beach .. I am hoping to move somewhere near a beach, preferably away from year round rain. Must haves include a wood floor-bamboo if possible, a washer, and electric kitchen. No gas due to allergies, both my pets and I have allergies. A stainless steel kitchen would be great, too. If anyone knows a real estate professional with feng shui credentials, that would be a big help. And I'd love to know of any other websites for people going from renting a space to home owning..Any ideas or suggestions? I need to move due to the allergies, as well as other factors..PS:I am *not* looking for luxury or gated communities..just a bungalow, cottage or small cabin.. Thanks!

I'd research the area you are interested in living and then zero on your budget. I'd too do a bunch of research on pollen, mold etc. issues of the area you are moving too also. Sounds like many trips to the library for you 1st.

I would steer away from any thing that has bamboo flooring....the myth that it is "green" and durable is just that..a myth. If you have pets and allergies...tile is what you want...durable, and easy to clean. http://kmswoodworks.wordpress.com/2010/04/18/the-great-green-washing-of-bamboo-flooring/

Are you wanting to stay in FL or relocate? Dave Ramsey the Money Guru offers great acdvice for those jumping from renting to buying and also will have a list of Endorsed Local Realtors that Dave Ramsey selects from each market. I would check out his site and if you ever want to relocate to Idaho we have a beautiful Lake!

@Jason Walker Team At this point, definitely not local, they pretty much priced affordable homes out of the price range of average buyers, which is sad..

@Joyce Hathaway / Team Brevard / RE/MAX Aerospace No, not yet..Orlando too pricey, currently paying under $500 rent, homes not reasonably priced anymore.. looking for a homestead situation if available. I'm tired of excessive noise, where I am is nothing *but* noise...I'm fed up but I have no choice at this point, I have to move now by the end of March..I think my building is either going condo or looking to get higher cost renters in..
