Ooooooo!! I see now!! (I peeked at your blog) Just looking @ the pics I thought the trunk was somehow used to make the wheel barrow!! Both turned out really nice - it's amazing what beauty is hidden under years of crud & gunk huh? Are you leaving the trunk natural - that makes it look so authentic I think. I know you'll get years of enjoyment from it!! -
A number of years ago I fixed up a trunk / chest for a client. I had hand cut dovetail corners and was from the 30's and had been in the family for that long. there were some splitting in the top that I fixed, but I also completely line the inside in aromatic red cedar...that trunk of yours might be calling for cedar too. -
LOL, I guess that would have been the natural conclusion :) I am going to white wash it. Letting the wood show through but giving it just that hint of color :) -
