Dog Portraits Made From Old T-Shirts

So you might think me a little crazy for making portraits of my dogs out of some old t-shirts but I had a little extra time on my hands a few years back and I was curious to see if it would work.
It all started with what I called my 20 T-shirt challenge. I had these t-shirts that I wanted to transform into something else. I made a dress, some new t-shirt, a pillow, a hanger cover, some jewelry and finally these dog portraits.
If you want to try this wacky project your self, the first step is to find a photo you want to use. You will need some software to convert the picture to 3 to 5 colors.
You want enough definition to make out the photo without having to many small areas of different colors.
Sorry I don't have too many pictures of the process but you need to print as many copies of the photo as you have colors. Then carefully and patiently cut out the shapes layering as you go. I used white glue to attach the pieces and layers together.
Once everything was dry I mounted the fabric portraits on some cardboard and framed them in some re-purposed frames. There are a few more details on my blog. Thanks for taking a look. Happy Earth Week! All DIY - Repurposing From - Household Items - Clothes

Actually quite nice. I would have a problem with the glue on such small pieces and edges of fabric without it spreading out too much, sticking to my fingers, having the fabric oversaturated and losing shape, or glopping up, is there some trick to applying the glue?

Why did you use yellow instead of brown?

Love them!!!! I am saving all the "theme" t-shirts we've bought or gotten through the years from trips, concerts and stuff, but which we never wear any more and the plan is to make a bed spread from them to keep the memories. But that means all the backsides of the t-shirts are free to use for other projects, and this is a superb contender in the race!!! THANKS!!

Is your dog on the left a Beauceron? Looks like it to me.
