Call an Expert
Trust me, if you follow me, you know my husband and I are DIYers. We normally tackle all of our projects on our own. However, experts exist for a reason. Don't be afraid to call on an extremely talents craftsman to do a project correctly. There is no shame in that. You will pay more. Be ready for that. However, it will be worth every penny. We hired a talented cabinet maker to help us turn an antique cabinet into a built-in. Adding quality craftsmanship to our house is important to us. We want to bring our 100 year old house back to all of it's glory. A DIY version of this would not have done the house or the cabinet justice. Check out my blog for more photos of our room. :)
This is a cabinet that was in the upstairs bedroom. When we removed the legs, we realized the height fit perfectly under the tv.
Our cabinet maker built it up and added made a seamless transition between the new construction and old cabinet.
He even added a hidden drawer for our unsightly tv trays.
