@Lisa H. - I think this is a fabulous idea and I love the vintage repurposing!!

As to the snide, snarky remarks - having been on the receiving end of that myself - I just don't get it!!!

@Corrie K., Mary U., & Maryann L., Ladies, please, your own insecurities and lack of self-confidence is showing badly!! My sympathy that you feel the need to bolster your own ego and ...»

feelings of low self worth by bashing others!!

While the greater majority of us on HomeTalk have never met and probably never will, you do get to "know" a lot of people on this site and I personally am very thankful to have a wonderful group of friends to whom I can turn if I have a question, problem or just want to share something I feel is creative. No, not everything is to everyone else's taste BUT, when you see something that you don't care for - do the rest of us a favor and just keep on keepin' on!!!

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO GO ELSEWHERE!!!

@Vicki T. - thanks!! ;~) There are just SOME things in life I cannot ignore and this type of behavior is pretty much at the top of my list!! NO ONE has the right to stomp on someone elses dreams!!

Yes vicki, I agree...very well said Susan. I honestly don't take offense when someone doesn't agree with my taste, but the ignorance of some people to have to be vocal about it. If anything, I feel sorry for and pity these people.... That being said, I really appreciate the sweet comments and the time those of you have taken to share them.....

look....if you cant handle honest comments of both varieties, stay off a PUBLIC domain site...dont ask for open opinion ..if you just want positive comments, ask your family and friends...you are invited to go elsewhere...i post positive comments when i see something worth it...

very cute. another shutter idea to work with :)

also, there's been a whole contraversy regarding pinterest and photos. Once you post a photo, you no longer have sole ownership. Pinterest holds the right to use your photo however they see fit. Even if that means allowing members to post it as their own. For that reason I don't post my artwork. This is the chance you take. I don't agree with it but that is their policy.

Ohhhh - I wondered how that worked! I've looked at things on Pinterest but have held fast to my resolve NOT to join this network. First, I just don't completely understand how it works and Second, I really like the format of HT, everything is very straight forward and easy to understand, plus the people are A LOT friendlier & supportive!!

I will say you can get alot great ideas from Pinterest :) I just made stained glass vases....I'm addicted. But like I said I will not post my artwork for fear that anyone can make a print of it and sell it as their own. That would really upset me to no end.

I love Hometalk and have seen so many wonderful ideas from some very creative people ")

For those of you who have been so rude as to point blank say in your own words that this is not PRETTY. Everybody does not have the same style, and/or taste. In my particular case, this is not my style, but I still see pretty in it., and very PRETTY. Let's not be close minded. What could be nice looking for you might not be so attractive to others, but that does not give us the right to to put others down for that.

@Leida R. RIGHT ON!!! I'm not particularly partial to modern or contemporary BUT, I can still appreciate the beauty of the creations. It needs to be kept in context and just because I don't like something doesn't mean I should use insulting adjectives and the point is "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, BUT HOW YOU SAY IT"!!!

Others need to learn the fine art of tack and diplomacy - it goes a long way!!!
