A Generic Trash Can Gets A Shabby Cottage Style Makeover

A generic stainless steel kitchen trash can gets a makeover with paint and fabric. We have all seen these boring stainless steel trash cans. I have a vintage cottage style kitchen and a "Plain Jane" trash can like this just would not blend with my decor.
With some paint, cute fabric and some trim I gave this trash can a makeover. It now matches my decor and looks adorable in my Shabby Chic vintage kitchen.
This project was fairly easy to do and can be customized to fit your own style of decor.

I don't understand. Stainless steel trash cans are extremely expensive. Why not do this adorable upscale to an inexpensive can?

I bought my trash can at a discount store for $30. I need something with a lid to keep my dog from nosing through the trash. A stainless steel trash can would look out of place in my cottage style kitchen so the makeover was well worth it.
