I transformed a sweet little accent table {what I call a telephone desk} into an art piece for any horse lover! I am so excited to have found a new line of paints to use, and of course I used my Ebony stain to create all of the artwork.
I want to paint a chest of drawers for my stepdaughter and discovered these wonderful new paints by Velvet Finishes. I thought the colors would enhance my staining art that I do, but I wanted to give it a try on a sample piece first. This cute little table was perfect to experiment on at $5!
I used two coats of the Velvet Finishes paint in Timeless (probably could have just used one), two coats of Velvet Finishes in Opulent , and just a highlight of VF Minimalist.
I then did some distressing, and used VF dark glazed to accent all of the dimensions/ layers.
Now for the fun part... My art design using MinWax Ebony stain.
Apologies for the color... I'm definitely NOT a photographer and do not have good lighting.
I designed a monongram using a horseshoe for her for the shelf.
And here is the finished piece. I now feel confident to do the dresser. I have never done a horse before, and now that I know the hues of the paint accent the staining nicely, I will conquer the bigger piece!

Very beautifully designed. May I ask where you purchased the paint from?

Did you work the stain in with a rag or is any of it pencil and what finish did you use to protect it? Sooo lovely!
