Does anyone know what these are for?

I got these with a bag of stuff at a goodwill type store. I have asked several people but no one seems to know what they are for. There are 8 of them. They aren't sharp or angled to grate so I'm guessing the holes would be for drainage?

They aren't really a shape that makes them useful for eating. Maybe for getting things out of jars like pickles, olives, cherries??

They were used to butter corn on the cob! scoop up butter then rub the slotted side on the cob and the heat was supposed to melt the butter. notice is said supposed to melt the butter-never worked for me-I pitched mine. would be good for getting olives out of jar though.

I Googled and I'm with @360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on this. Although it could be a bar spoon for mixing drinks.

looks like a smaller version of an ice scoop used to remove ice chips from your ice fishin hole.

@Jean Vercler Now with your answer I can see that they have a curve to the bottom that would match the shape of an ear of corn...its fun to learn new stuff.

Diet spoons! Tiny so you do not eat to much and slotted just in case you cheat! lol I have no idea, but I like the butter for corn idea the best!

The picture doesn't show if the same side of each slot is slanted out and sharpened, much like a cheese grater's slots. If they are, these things could be lemon or lime zesters.

They are for buttering corn. The heat from the corn comes through the slits and butters the corn evenly.

Rita, that's a good idea. I'll try the corn thing but if they aren't effective I think they'd make a great wind chime - very unique! Jim D. I thought they might be some kind of zester but they aren't sharp at all and the slots aren't at an angle, they are flat so they wouldn't catch anything to zest or grate.

They are used to butter corn on the cob, I bought a box of them and the cover was a picture showing us how to use them.
