Balustrade Candle Holders

With just a imagination, I turned these old discarded balustrades into some funky candleholders.
I found two old balustrades at a barn sale recently. After cleaning them up a bit, I cut one into 1/3 and 2/3 sections.
Then I took a square piece of 1x4" wood and painted it black and then whitewashed it. I sanded it back to create a look that was similar to the balustrades.
I also whitewashed the balustrades to keep it all looking the same. We used "No Nails" to adhere the candle bases to the balustrades.
With a little sanding and a final coat of wax to protect it and give them some shine, the balustrades now make for a rustic candleholder set.
