Papaya for sure, in South Florida the Cuban people call it "fruta bomba" because it looks like a bomb

Yes it is Papaya for sure!! Isn't it also called Paw Paw? We have several of these in our back yard back home in India. I miss picking them fresh of the tree in summer.

The common name may be Paw Paw, but Paw Paw is also Asimina triloba, not the same plant as the Papaya.

Most definitely a papaya. Paw Paw (Asimina triloba) is a fruit tree native to North America and is the largest edible fruit native to North America. That's a good looking papaya, producing good amount of fruit. Papaya and Paw Paw both very tasty.

Paw Paw is a totally different tree from a papaya. They are a native tree here in Michigan (Paw Paw, that is).

It is not a paw paw. A paw paw is another type of fruit. This is a papaya.

I planted a whole bunch of papaya seeds and they grew fairly well until the hard freeze got 'em:( They are very good for the digestive tract. Once they turn yellowish you can pull them off and wrap in paper, and they won't get too many bruises once they are ripe. They go bad fast, so refrigerate.

I love them, but my kids don't.

Not a very attractive tree, huh? Guess the fruit is worth tolerating the ugly tree.

OK, I stand corrected; This is a Papaya.( although sometimes called a pawpaw based on geographical location and ethnicities of the individual)

Yes, the PawPaw is a diffrent fruit, haven't had it, would be willing to try.

    Awsome Fruit, Lets Enjoy.
